Scene: JSSDF Soldiers surveying the battlefield
JSSDF Soldier (comm): Surface heat has dissipated.  High pressure steam
discharges have also stopped.  Currently, Dogma Level 3 and the purple Eva
are under control.
JSSDF Higher-up (comm): And the red one?
JSSDF Soldier (comm): Sighted in the underground lake, about 7 meters
underwater.  Status of the pilot is unknown.

Scene: Prime Minister's office
Attendant: Mr. Prime Minister, how should we proceed with the clean-up of
Nerv headquarters?
Prime Minister: If we let other countries begin redevelopment, we'll just be
repeating the same mistakes.  We'll seal them for 20 years just like Old
Tokyo.  Still, the fact that Nerv was advancing their Human Instrumentality
Project behind the scenes to eliminate humanity by initiaing Third Impact
makes me sick.
Attendant:  Humans are probably the only creatures capable of hating their
own kind.  How should I convey to the Diet?
Prime Minister:  It's probably alright to wait until it's all over.
Continue waiting for reports from the special forces.

Scene: Depth charges fired into the lake, explode around Unit-02
Asuka: Ow!
*Asuka's face is in much distress*
Asuka: No...I don't want to die.  I don't want to die.  I don't want to
die.  I don't want to die.I don't want to die! Mama!  Mama, help me!
*Asuka's mother appears from a flash of light and pats Asuka's head.
Asuka: Mama...
*smiling young Asuka*
Asuka (young): You were here all along.
*Cross explosion from the lake*
JSSDF Soldier: What the... did we get it?
*Unit-02 surfaces from the lake, carying a destroyer with it*
Asuka: Sorry to keep you waiting.
